Find Help

Awareness

This is the first step to invoking change. By defining the need and facilitating conversations about substance use disorder, we can slowly make steps toward eliminating the stigma, thus freeing individuals to get help early.

Prevention

Education and empowerment is the second step to finding hope in this epidemic. Through resources, conversations, and events we hope to prevent substance use disorder and inspire people to live with hope, resilience, and purpose.

Connection

The final way APC provides value to the community is by connecting and providing resources for the community by reducing stigma, prevention efforts, and helping those seeking recovery.

We Are Addiction Prevention Coalition

The Addiction Prevention Coalition (APC) is a non-profit community resource that aims to eliminate addiction in Central Alabama. Originally named The Freedom Source, APC has been providing support for the greater Birmingham area for more than 15 years. Through our in-school prevention programs, community educational events, and our collection of support services, APC aims to be a convener of organizations united to prevent addiction and promote recovery.

Vision

To inspire all people throughout Central Alabama to find hope, resilience, and connection.

Mission

Prevent substance use disorder through education, recovery support, and community partnerships.
